Festival Set Up Information
Camp is open from Monday at 2 PM till Tuesday at 2 PM only for Wimmin setting up
Set Up
Set-up will begin at 2 PM Monday the week of festival and continue until the Festival begins at 2 PM on Tuesday. There will be food for evening Monday, breakfast Tuesday and lunch Tuesday for set-up workers. It will be very helpful to know, if you intend to be a set-up worker, what time you plan to arrive on which day and what meals you will be eating.
Set-up will mostly be for the communal areas (kitchen and dining room, registration and recreation building). It is physical work of hauling and cleaning, organizing furniture and supplies, making signs and charts, setting up the registration process and whatever else needs doing.

KitchenKitchen involves cleaning the pots, pans, dishes and utensils we plan to use and counting them. There is a lot of hauling in of our own kitchen supplies and setting things up in the kitchen for nearly a week of cleaning, cooking, compost and trash. It may be we will have to sweep and wash the floor. Food will be coming with wimmin from various cities, so it means helping to unload, unpack and store community food. For some, it is going to town to HyVee to shop and then hauling the food to the camp kitchen.
RecreationRecreation Building is also a lot of moving of boxes and bags into the building, moving furniture around, possibly sweeping and mopping, setting up the stage area, the free box area, the games and sports equipment, the sound system, decorating with lights and whatever else appears that needs to be done.

Dining HallDining Hall is taking benches off tables, moving tables how we like them, washing them all and possibly sweeping and washing the floor. It is setting up the various areas such as art supplies, the schedule, sign-up for meals, raffle, Midwest herstory and that sort of thing. Signs. Posters. Decorations. Unpacking games and cards and dominoes. The lifting and shoving part is pretty strenuous, with all the benches and tables.
RegistrationRegistration includes the set-up of the system on the porch of the infirmary cabin, so unpacking boxes, creating and putting up signs, getting the tables from inside the building and setting them up, making it all as welcoming as possible.

If I help set up, do I have to pay for Monday?
Midwest will be paying for an extra night for the set-up time as well as buying food for three meals so yes, that counts as a day when figuring your registration fee
